At dawn,
countless stars
embroidering the sky
shine like gems, truly marvelous.
In the darkness,
the one who sees the void
becomes the lucky one
invited to a beautiful gem feast.
Can people
compare the seven treasures they desire to the shining stars?
Suddenly,
realizing that the gem stars
are merely stones,
I see that gems and stones are not different.
Now,
seeing gems as stones
and stones as gems,
Discriminative thoughts,
clinging thoughts
disappear completely.

새벽녘
허공을 수 놓은
수많은 별들, 보석처럼
빛을 내니 참으로 경이롭다.
어둠 속
허공 본 사람
아름다운 보석 잔치에
초대받은 행운아 되었네.
사람들
갖고 싶은 칠보를
빛나는 별들에 비교할 수 있겠는가?
문득
보석 별
그저 돌임을
알아차리고 보니
보석과 돌 다르지 않구나.
이제
보석을 돌 보듯
돌을 보석 보듯하니
분별심
집착하는 마음
말끔히 사라진다.

♦ 별은 태양 주변에 어둠이 짙을 때 더욱 반짝인다. 어둠을 두려워하면 밝은 별을 볼 수 없다.

♦ 무명이 걷히기 직전, 깊은 무명이 사라지면 밝은 지혜 저절로 드러난다.
